Noise Analysis of Cylinder and Crank and Rocker Mechanism of Reciprocating Compressor

The reciprocating compressor itself is a kind of high-noise equipment. Finding the source of the noise of the reciprocating compressor is the most fundamental and effective measure to solve the noise of the reciprocating compressor. Therefore, the noise source and characteristics of the reciprocating compressor must be analyzed.


1. Cylinder noise of reciprocating compressor


When the reciprocating compressor is working, the gas pressure in the cylinder periodically changes to cause the gas noise in the cylinder, and at the same time, it arouses the vibration and impact of the piston, cylinder, cylinder head, connecting rod, body and other parts to produce solid-state sound. This is an important source of noise for different types of gas compressor.


The gas pressure in the cylinder is mainly transmitted to the surface of the reciprocating compressor along the piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, bearing, and body, thereby inducing high-frequency vibration and structural noise on the surface of the boil off gas compressor.


This approach produces the most serious noise, followed by structural noise caused by the vibration of the cylinder wall surface caused by gas pressure, and the structure noise caused by the vibration of the cylinder head surface caused by gas pressure.


2. Noise of crank and rocker mechanism of reciprocating compressor


Pistons, piston rods, crossheads, etc. in recycle gas compressor, causing the inertial force of the reciprocating body to change all the time. If this inertial force cannot be effectively balanced, it will cause vibration and noise in the relevant parts.


In addition, the reciprocating inertial force, as part of the piston force, will cause a corresponding overturning moment on the body. Because the overturning moment changes periodically, it causes the entire reciprocating compressor to produce a center of gravity, produce sway, and cause resonance of related parts, which produces noise.
